Ford Truck Fans, Rejoice: First-Ever F-150 Diesel Is Here

Ford truck fans, it’s time to celebrate. For the first time ever, Ford will be offering a diesel engine on America’s favorite and best-selling pickup: the F-150. With the all-new diesel engine, the Ford F-150 achieves numerous best-in-class offerings and remarkable fuel efficiency at 30 mpg on the highway. At Jimmy Michel Motors, we couldn’t be more excited to offer such a perfect blend of power, capability, and efficiency to truck drivers.

The new F-150 Diesel is ferociously strong and efficient. The advanced 3.0-liter Power Stroke® diesel engine earns the F-150 the titles of best-in-class towing at 11,400 pounds and payload at 2,020 pounds; best-in-class diesel horsepower at 250; and best-in-class torque at 440 lb-ft.

The Ford F-150 Diesel was designed by the same team that designed the F-Series Super Duty’s 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine, which is America’s most powerful and capable pickup truck ever. In order to add efficiency and increased capabilities to the mix, the team turned to creating a diesel engine, and their efforts do not disappoint. The new diesel engine is constructed with compacted-graphite iron block material and a forged-steel crank to maximize strength and minimize weight. It also features a mechanical engine-driven fan and dual radiator shutters for increased performance in tough driving conditions and smart Auto Start-Stop technology to help reduce fuel consumption while driving in the city. The engine is paired with a standard SelectShift® 10-speed automatic transmission that smoothly shifts gears to provide the power you need to complete the toughest of jobs.

The diesel-engine equipped F-150 is set to arrive at Ford dealers in spring; we at Jimmy Michel Motors can’t wait to see this incredible truck in action.
